My students need a digital camera, battery, memory card, and case to capture real life events. The children love seeing themselves in books, writing assignments and posters.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach a very active bunch of first graders in a high poverty school. My first graders are 90% Hispanic with families only speaking Spanish. Many of the children are bilingual.
My Project: I envision my students using the cameras on a daily basis.
I am creating a new center this year called the "Creation Station" which will house all different kinds of knickknacks, art mediums, blocks, and so on. Students will be given a chance to create something using the materials, take a picture of it, and then write about it. I also see my students using the cameras when they write expository books in writer's workshop. I envision small groups of students using the cameras together to support math and inquiry projects we engage in, as well as those groups using the cameras to capture images from fieldwork
My Project
Seeing the world through a students eyes is amazing! I love looking at students creations and listening to them share their work. The camera I am requesting in this project allow students to capture and share more things they build, create, and enjoy.
The digital camera, case, battery and card reader will enhance student learning through all subject areas.
The children will be so excited to see themselves in student made books, posters and field trips throughout the school year. The class loves sharing their work with friends and family.
