If you are a teacher or have a child of your own, you know how important it is to surround children with educational materials whenever you can. After all, children absorb so much information from their surroundings - we want that information to be the important stuff! That's why I am requesting a new large group area rug for my first grade classroom. The area rug I have chosen is colorful and bright to attract student interest. The alphabet is displayed beautifully on the rug and arranged in a way that I will easily be able to assign my students their own places to sit during large group instruction. This will provide students a comfortable place to sit in the front of the room so they can see what I am teaching up close and personal. They may also use the rug during independent reading time to lay back and read on their own. In addition, the rug will help me build a classroom community for the students by correlating with our theme of 'Ms. Coley's Caterpillars' that I have already created for the students. I wish you could see for yourself how much use my students will get out of your donation! The durable ABC Caterpillar rug would be used every day for every one of my students, and will definitely be used for many years to come in my classroom. I hope you can see what a valuable addition this rug will be to my students' education.
