This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
The 2023-2024 school year will be the fourth year of our school's robotics program. Our two teams of students will be challenged to build a robot that can pick up different sized cubes and move them to various scoring zones by lifting them up and releasing them into one of three containers. The students will design and build a functioning robot and then attend competitions where they will work with teams from other schools to score as many points as possible with their robots. This is a wonderful opportunity for the students to develop problem-solving skills, learn how to work collaboratively, and have real hands-on experience with the engineering design process.
In order to be prepared for a successful competition season, my students need the game components and field elements so they can understand the game, design a robot to meet the requirements of the game, and practice developing the best strategy to maximize their scores.
One of the most critical parts of the engineering process is testing the design and making improvements based on those tests. Without the field elements, my students will be unable to evaluate the effectiveness of their robot design and will be unprepared for competitions. Please help us to reach our goals by providing the goals to practice on!
