I teach the most amazing class of second graders in Florida!

Although many of my students come from struggling homes, they come to school each day eager to learn. Our school is part of the Title I program, where over 70% of children qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. The children in my class have a variety of needs including social-emotional deficits, learning disabilities, and English language acquisition. You can help them reach their full potential with your support!

My Project

Each day, students have independent work time during my reading class. While I am working with students in guided reading groups, the remaining students work individually or with partners. These amazing resources will help my students practice the essential skills of fluency, decoding, and comprehending reading. The activities included in these Comprehension literacy kits will keep students engaged and improve much-needed reading skills.

Many children in my class are currently reading below grade level.

Your donation can help place these students on the road to success--not only for this school year, but for the rest of their lives. As I constantly tell my students, "Reading is the key to your future."
