I teach a group of 25 amazing Kindergarteners! We are part of a small district, made up of many diverse students from a lower socioeconomic town. Although our students come from many different backgrounds, there is one common thread: they all LOVE learning!
My students love exploring through play, learning math with hands-on manipulatives, conquering reading, and, most of all, having fun!
Their smiles brighten my day, and I always want to give them every opportunity to grow in my classroom.
We incorporate many different learning strategies, group work, and technology to make sure each student can shine. In our Kindergarten, we are a family, we support our friends, and we are ready to work our hardest every day. I am so lucky to have the greatest group of Kindergarteners and I can't wait to see where their lives take them!
My Project
Kindergarten is one of the most crucial times in a child's life. We are learning so many important things...letters, sounds, numbers, addition and subtraction, story writing, communication, and socialization. But, the most important thing we are learning to do is READ!
My students need a comfortable, fun, and inviting library where they can explore and grow their love of literacy.
With this project, you will be providing them with this special place.
The two bookshelves will replace our rickety old ones and house stories that will excite my students. They will have much more space to explore the literature and find the book that is just right for them. The book bins will allow me to organize the books by genre, author, theme, etc. It will give my young readers a quick and easy way to look for what they are interested in reading.
