Ready, Set, Read!

My students need these leveled books so they can be successful readers. Being able to read books they choose on their level will provide them with much needed confidence.

My Students

Can you remember the very first book you read when you were learning how to read?! My students are beginning the exciting journey of learning how to read! Please help them make wonderful reading memories by donating to our Ready, Set, Read! project.

This first grade classroom in a Title 1 School in South Carolina has awesome students.

They are very eager and excited to learn about all academic areas especially reading! Reading is an important life skill that these students need to master before heading into second grade.

My Project

I am requesting a leveled library from Lakeshore Learning Materials. This leveled library contains 80 leveled books that will inspire and motivate my first grade students to read on their level and beyond. The opportunity to have this leveled library in our classroom will give my students the experience they need and deserve to better themselves and to prepare them for the future.

Frederick Douglas said it best: "Once you learn to read, you will be forever free." It is my duty as a teacher to instill in my students a love of reading.

Reading will take you many places throughout your life and once you learn to read you are free to go anywhere! Please help me help my students to become forever free -- to learn to read with this wonderful class leveled library!
