My Students
My third grade students are curious, hard working, very eager to fill their minds with whatever they can read. We are a diverse group that cheer each other on every day. Their bright smiles and clever minds keep me wanting to teach them more and more everyday.
The kids are pleasers, they are very hard workers and are very appreciative for the items that they get in the classroom, they love coming to school to learn.
I am constantly looking for ways to close the reading gap in my classroom and supplying it with needed reading materials has to be a priority for my students.
My Project
My students need great nonfiction material in our classroom. With the common core testing and all of the assessments heavily driven by nonfiction text, I need to enrich my room with what the kids need. The magazines will allow us to work in small groups, whole groups, and also incorporate the technology into our learning.
Being able to provide great nonfiction text to my students will help them be even more successful during assessment times so having this donated to us would be such a blessing for all of us.
Having a classroom library that supplies what they need would make a huge difference. A lot of the books will be great read aloud for the class. In looking through the different titles we will be able to cross over into different subjects with the books as well especially for science and social studies.
