My students are a diverse, enthusiastic group of 10/11 year olds who put a smile on my face every day. They love science class and that we have the ability to complete hands-on experiments frequently.
With many varying strengths, it's a joy watching them support and challenge each other.
There is never a boring day when these students are leading the charge. They enjoy exploring the world beneath their feet and the sky above their heads. Most days, it feels like nothing will satisfy their curiosity.
My Project
The materials listed were selected with consideration of student academic and social-emotional needs. My hope is to create an inclusive, safe classroom space where learning thrives. There are many various supports required in a diverse classroom setting and it is my goal to reach all types of learners in my classroom.
The beginning of the year is a crucial time to set the tone and establish students as productive, collaborative scientists.
While some supplies may seem like 'the basics,' they are crucial for establishing routine and giving the students ownership of their materials. My fifth graders thank you in advance!
