Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our school serves students in grades K-8 and provides rigorous academics within a safe learning environment. As a result of our tireless efforts we are an inner-city school success story--95% of our students graduate high school!

My first graders are energetic, eager learners; working by the motto "practice makes perfect"!

Many of my students face difficult challenges both in and out of the classroom, however they come in each day smiling and ready to give their best efforts. I work hard to inspire each of them to not only be the best student they can be, but also the best person they can be.

My Project

My students need the headphones to better be able to concentrate. When they are all on their reading and math sites it can become distracting for them to hear other student's computers. Also, when I am working with a small group of students and I have another group working from their chromebooks the learning is more productive for everyone if they can't hear what each other is doing. The students also really need the mice to go along with the Chromebooks because they have not sufficiently developed the dexterity to move the curser around on their own. They go on several sites that require them to drop and drag items to the correct place.

It is all about the power of concentration and being able to put their energy into learning!

I want to keep distractions to a minimum and spend as many minutes as possible practicing and learning. Thank you in advance for any donation you can make towards my project. I sincerely appreciate it.
