My students are 6th grade writing, reading and history students in a public school in California. We have a range of students at all ability levels. They spend half of their school day in my classroom, integrating reading, writing, and history to build their academic skills.
These writing resources can make a world of difference in their development as writers.
All students need opportunities to develop their writing skills, and these materials will make all the difference in their motivation to write and boost their readiness for achieving state standards.
My Project
Our sixth graders work hard trying to progress in reading and writing. They earn points for coming to school prepared and focusing on various class assignments. They can earn prizes each week for meeting goals and deadlines - pens, erasers, tools for art projects and stools to facilitate flexible seating.
These rewards will encourage them to give their very best effort and will also recognize them for their concentration.
We encourage each student to give their best effort and meet due dates every day. These items will boost their effort and willingness to go above and beyond. We hope this project will contribute to their academic growth, confidence and lead to continued success.
