Help me give my students this camera equipment to help learn a new skill and see their creations.

The students at my school are very special chidren. They are growing up in a neighborhood with lots of negative influences. They are full of so much potential, creativity and special skill sets. Hearing, seeing and recognizing these characteristics is not a normal occurance for our students.
When our students start to see their potential, their creativity and skills that they are flourishing at, their whole inner child changes.
They start to work harder. They start to take more chances in their learning. They start to interact more and become participants in their education.
My colleagues, adminstration, and our parent organization are working very hard this year as a team to help nourish our students in this important phase of their lives. With this project we are hoping to be able to showcase the students and give them an outlet to be able to see and show what they are learning and creating. We see with our students that when they realize that are creating and learning, they love to show that to others. So we are looking to utilize all avenues we can to incourage and support positive influences.
This camera equipment will have a dual purpose for our students. First, they will be used to continue one phase of our schools social emotional learning plan. We have two parents who have been creating and updating our schools website. They have been putting pictures of the students projects and activities on the website. These students have loved seeing themselves on the website and so proud of their accomplishments. It has actually helped motivate some students to work harder and be more creative so they can be on the website. We hope to continue to use this activity to encourage these students to see what potential and creativity they really have inside of them.
"Look at me, there I am," is what we hear when the students see themselves on the website.
We, the teachers, adminstration and parents, have been working together to give these students all the positive encouragement we can. Most of our students feel that they are not good at anything or can not do anything. With our new website, we our hoping to change their mindsets.
The second purpose for this equipment will be to teach the students basic photography. At this time, our two parents who have been updating our website have been using their own equipment. That means that we are very limited to the days that we can use their equipment for events or activities. So our new plan is to have an after school class for those students who may be interested in photography and help them learn how to use the equipment. With these students, we can then have them take pictures and document school activities more often. Also, we hope to open a new door for some of our students to walk through as a future hobby or career.
