I currently serve a group of young learners, pre-school to 1st grade, eager to excel and grow in the learning environment. Most of the students I serve are eligible for special education services in the areas of reading and mathematics.
Over 70% of my students receive speech and language support, which requires a language rich environment.
All of my students receive free and reduced price lunch. I have many active learners and I love providing them with hands-on activities when learning. My students live within walking distance of the school and participate in the Extended Year program. The Extended Year program requires students with high academic need to attend school an additional 20 days beyond the traditional school calendar.
My students need new reading materials such as the Instant Reading Learning Centers and dry erase markers for early learning! Many of the materials over the school year become worn out from use.
Dry erase markers dry out, and the students and teachers require more writing utensils to complete lessons. Dry erase markers are used by the students and teachers daily to present information and show evidence of understanding. These markers are necessary for beginning writing.
The Instant Reading Learning Centers will provide the students with interactive ways to rhyme, spell words, and practice writing site words. The sight words are necessary for early literacy and the foundation for reading. These materials will the excite the students and motivate them to practice their sight words.
