Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have a wonderful group of children ready and eager to learn. Students in my room are working at various instructional levels. Learning centers can meet their needs.
There are about 700 students at my K-5 elementary school in South Gate, California.
The majority of the children are Hispanic and English Language Learners. The children come from low income families that are struggling financially. Most of the children qualify for free or reduced lunch. Many of them do not have access to technological equipment at home. Some of my students are working at remedial levels.
My Project
STEM activities promote exploration, investigation, problem-solving, discoveries, oral language development, collaboration, discussion, predictions, and a whole lot of fun for creative thinkers. I try to provide engaging STEM projects and activities for all students in my class.
Also many of the projects I would like to work on require an electronic device.
A Chromebook will give my students the needed technological component for the various STEM projects they can engage in. The new Design & Build kit will provide various opportunities for my students to work in student- centered learning stations. The students will be given opportunities to discover and share with their classmates.
