My students are lively 5-6 year old kindergartners that love learning and experiencing everything school has to offer them!
They are a great group of children that come to school eager to play and learn everyday.
For some of them school is the only safe and consistent experience that they have in their life so we try to provide a safe fun learning experience everyday. Even though we have experienced great financial cut backs in our district my principal, other staff members, and myself have gone through great lengths to never make the students ever feel that they don't have what we need to have a successful learning day. Most of the necessary materials we need are purchased with the teachers money out of their own pocket. It has become quite a hardship just to supply our classrooms with the essentials like pencils, crayons, and paper every year.
My Project
My students would love different materials and supplies to guide them throughout the new school year. We would like book-buddies, book bins, document cams (for visuals), pencils, copy paper, crayons, markers, and other materials that are necessary in ensuring their growth and success in their kindergarten career.
We would love the book bins to set up our reader's workshop routines that we do in the classroom everyday.
We use our book buddies to set up our home lending library to ensure we are practicing our reading strategies at home and growing avid readers! Other materials like pencils, paper, and markers help our students with their day to day work.
