Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have an amazing group of students. They are all unique and have different learning styles. My goal is to help my classroom environment be as welcoming, comfortable, and accommodating as possible for my kids to learn and thrive. Working in an inner city school district has its own set of unique challenges. I want my classroom to be their safe haven and know that they are wanted, respected and loved. I love how dedicated my students are to learning!
My Project
Let's make our kids lifelong readers! Students want to read things that are engaging and interesting. It is so important to have a classroom library rich in both Fiction and Non-Fiction texts that kids are interested in.
Students who enjoy what they are reading will retain more information and become excited about new topics.
They are more willing to share their new found knowledge with others!
Reading just 20 minutes a day, students are exposed to 1.8 Million words per year and score in the 90% percentile on standardized tests.
