Reading, Writing, and Podcasting to Encourage and Empower Students
Help me give my students a true writing and learning experience with a snack chest, charging station, and more. We will be writing for a student-led podcast to increase engagement and rigor.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
My students are all unique and don't know how capable they truly are. My goal is to bring creativity to my classroom that will spark and engage them in writing. Creating writing assignments that turn into podcasts that are within the scope of the TEKS will create more engaging planning for my lessons. Consequently, cell phones are a distraction and my plan is to create Galveston Cell Phone Island where their phones can take a break and they can focus on meaningful lessons.
Several students have expressed that they want to become writers, create podcasts, write children's books, vlogging, etc.
as a career; this is wonderful and I want to provide them with the tools to start their journey. By obtaining the podcasting equipment they will be well on their way to preparing for writing and making real-world connections through podcasts.
