This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The primary goal of this project is to create a dynamic and inclusive learning environment for my first-grade classroom. By integrating diverse resources, my aim is to address the unique needs of each student, fostering a love for learning while supporting their individual learning styles.

Specifically, I want to enhance literacy skills through engaging activities that cater to different learning modalities.

The requested items, such as the writing boards, games, workbooks, and manipulative kits, align with my goal of promoting language development, fine motor skills, and creativity.

Moreover, I aim to provide targeted support for multi-lingual learners, recognizing the linguistic diversity in my classroom. The inclusion of resources like the Struggling Readers book and Wikki Stix kit ensures that all students, regardless of language background, have access to tools that support their reading and writing development.

The requested items, including the Kaplan Early Learning Sensory Literacy Kit, gel writing boards, pre-writing game, mini magnetic drawing boards, Spectrum Writing workbook, Daily 6-trait Writing, Struggling Readers activities, Kumon Grade 1 Writing, and other resources, collectively contribute to a holistic approach in enhancing the learning experience of my first-grade classroom.

The Sensory Literacy Kit, with Phonic Pebbles and Sight Word String Ups, will engage students in tactile literacy activities, promoting hands-on learning. The gel writing boards and magnetic drawing boards provide a fun way for children to practice ABC's, reading, and writing, fostering creativity while promoting dexterity and fine motor skills.

My first-grade students are a diverse and special group, with 17 out of 24 being multi-lingual learners. This diversity enriches our learning environment, fostering a sense of cultural appreciation and understanding.The requested resources take into account the special needs of multi-lingual learners, providing targeted support for language development.
