My Students

You are sitting at your seat and want to see what is happening on the table at the front of the room. Not everyone can crowd around the table! Please help my kids see!

I teach a combination class of second and third graders.

They learn from each other while mastering the standards for each individual grade. Enthusiastic teachers guide about 400 students at our school. Each student is special with unique talents and needs. The kids are both challenged and nurtured. We don't have as many technology opportunities as some of the schools in the district, but our kids are enthusiastic learners!

My Project

A document camera would help every student in my room participate better in every learning opportunity. Math manipulative objects can be demonstrated in one place, but the whole class will be able to see them. We will discuss their use as students use them at their seats. Both two and three dimensional learning tools can be displayed for the entire class to see easily! I will use a textbook, dictionary, library book or writing example for cooperative study. Good writing can be modeled. Every book instantly becomes a big book for the study of grammar or comprehension. We can use it to discuss new vocabulary in every subject! Any map in any book can be studied--not just the two pull down maps already in the classroom. Can you imagine how wonderful it would be to easily be able to see a Science experiment?

My students will be excited to learn new things in new ways.

The world is changing daily--please change my classroom so we can keep up with new methods while embracing solid educational practices. The students will see a whole new world of learning! This is my vision, and I hope it is yours, too! Make Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic exciting with technology!
