Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Hi everyone. My students are from Houston, Texas and come from low-income and underprivileged communities. They strive to do their best in class. I want to provide the same resources and opportunities that a privileged school has to these students. I strive to get my seventh grade students college ready with the right resources that you could help us get. They are committed and motivated students that strive to be college ready starting in middle school.
My students come from all levels of education.
From knowing only one language to reading at different grade levels. I want to close that gap as much as possible to get these students at their grade level or progress to what is needed to go to the next grade.
My Project
My students will need to analyze and annotate certain novels and their experience will be improved by having these materials and help them with their unit projects. The school does not have all of these supplies and some of my students have trouble with getting them as well.
I want to provide the best and fun opportunities for them to thrive and be able to succeed in the classroom as well as outside of class.
The use of the pocket charts can help the students see key words that they will need to know for the unit and be reminded of why we are learning these words. Other supplies listed of the pencils, marker and colors are use to engage the students in their assignments and still have fun while learning new things in class. It is hard to make reading fun at an early age but with resources such as these listed in this project can not only help them to learn but also stay organized and be prepared for class. I would like them exposed of what it means to ready not only for the next grade but our mission to be college ready on step at a time!
