My Students

My second graders are the “why” of what I do everyday! I make it my mission to help them love school. Part of loving school is loving to learn! This year they are learning to love to read! I love to read aloud to them everyday and they love to listen to me read. You should see how excited they get sometimes while I’m reading! I hope that when they leave me the love of learning is something that stays with them the rest of their lives!

My Project

Having these Junie B. Jones books in the kids’ hands will mean so much to the kids! They will love listening and reading along as they hear the words! My class is sometimes the only place the kids hear a story read to them. Making a story come alive while holding their own book will be priceless! Students will learn how to read with expression, what a fluent reader sounds like, new vocabulary, how to visualize as they read, how to comprehend better, and how to read for pleasure! Most of all, these books will create a love of reading that will last a lifetime!
