Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our Elementary School is a Title I school comprised of TK through 5th grade students. Our school population is 98% Latino students, and we have a high percentage of English Language Learners. Our school is in a low income area and is in need of supplies.

My Project

My students are in need of culturally relevant books to spark an interest in reading. Students will have access to social emotional books to help them relate and express their emotions, which pair wonderfully with our social emotional learning block.

My students are very interested in Dog Man books and love to indulge and lose themselves into the imaginary word of Dog Man.

These books will allow my students to have those options available in our class library. I want my students to love reading and I would like to see there be no obstacles that hold them back from enjoying a great book!
