Reading Vast Titles In the Comfort Of The Classroom

Help me give my students confidence in reading by providing them vastly diverse books and flexible seating to increase comfort while they are in the classroom.

My Project

My students are between 6 and 7 years old. They are all very enthusiastic readers, some emerging, some on grade level, and some are advanced. They are all the same can be restless during quiet time. Proving them with great variety of books available to them at anytime, and giving them the freedom to sit any where in the classroom, having freedom to sit on a comfortable cushion can most definitely encourage them to curl up with books at any given chance.

First grade in my opinion is a very special time in a child's schooling.

Most of them are continuing to love learning from books, and this time of the year they are learning to read on their own pace at a minimal assistance from adults. They become more and more confident at their ability to read more challenging for them. It is fascinating to see the growth of all the individual students in my class. It never ceases to amaze me as to how much they have grown as readers as compared to the beginning of the year.

Although they are all in various level of learning of fluency, all are very much invested in learning and reading. With all these new books that they can potentially have, this momentum can keep going and growing.
