My kindergarten classroom has a wonderfully diverse population of students. There are a number of English language learners along with children from a multitude of differing backgrounds. These 23 students are part of a large K4 -5th grade elementary school. I love my class!
We value teaching character at my school.
Character is one of the key pillars of our school culture. It teaches us how to be compassionate, honest, kind, and work hard. Our students learn to put forth that added effort to be the best they can be.
My Project
Kindergarten is an exciting year! And one of the most exciting things about it is the joy that comes from learning to read. I spend a large part of my day teaching my little friends how to read. The look of excitement on their faces when it finally clicks and they realize they can READ brings me so much joy! It never gets old.
My students need hands-on tools to help them understand phonics!
I meet with small groups of students at my teacher table during our literacy instruction time. We need whiteboards, magnets, and games to make this learning engaging! I also need a small easel that can sit right on my teacher table to help me lead my lessons.
Thank you for considering donating to this project! These items will last for many years and help me to give the gift of reading to many little learners.
