My Students

COVID! Quarantine! At-home learning! Missing you! My students need to connect with each other! They are fun-loving, social, kind and supportive of each other, and work so well as a team. These connections need support during this time!

"Today a reader, tomorrow a leader." Whole-class novel studies empower my students to connect with the story, connect with each other, and connect with themselves.

The synergy of the group draws in students of all reading levels and all reading passions. This connection and synergy is part of my students' delightful nature and needs to be nurtured during this difficult time.

My Project

Whether at home or in class, these books will keep my students connected through whole-class novel studies. Providing this experience takes them to a higher level of reading learning. Reading alone is good. Reading with a buddy is great. Reading with a group is AWESOME!

Diverse connections, opinions, understanding, and experiences come into play when my students engage in reading as a whole class.

When students have their own copy, to hold in their hands, they can use sticky notes throughout the book to record their questions, thoughts, ideas, and connections with the text. Engaging in reading increases their language skills and comprehension skills. Engaging in reading as a class takes it to the next level by adding critical thinking and discussion about the literature! Reading a book becomes a whole different experience at this level!
