Third-grade students are the most impressionable. They are learners at heart and love to learn.
My students are very sweet and loving kids that love to read together.
They absolutely love having fun in my classroom. They never leave my room at the end of the day without a hug I love when they are excited to come to school to learn.
Third grade can be a stressful grade for students because of the state test, the FSA. So, when they want to come in and learn together it's the best feeling ever. Because our school is Title I, our funding for the up and coming year was cut again.
My students and I like to read for the last thirty minutes of class each day. Sometimes I read to them and other times we read books together. I would like class sets of these reading series to introduce different authors and genres of books.
Reading is one of the most amazing ways to build a student's confidence, vocabulary and reading skills.
I love introducing my students to new books that are in series. That way if they enjoy it, they will want to read more of the series, check out the books in the library, and encourage others to read. We love to read in third grade and I love to inspire life long readers.
