Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Over the last few years, I have had the best job teaching the most amazing students. What makes them amazing is their eagerness to learn, and the wonderful things they teach me in return. Year after year, I get to interact with children who love to try new things, and who love to challenge themselves to become a better student.
As a teacher, there is nothing better than being able to see your students achieve something they thought they couldn't do.
To see the joy in their faces when they accomplish something, is one of the main reasons I love my job! My students and I learn from each other each day. They are the reason why I am eager to come to work each day, they make me become a better teacher each day.
My Project
This project will provide my students with the resources they need to stay informed on current events. No matter their age, students love to read Scholastic News Magazines because they are fun to read and it keeps them engaged! Most importantly, it gives them an opportunity to stay informed on what is going on around the world and in the community they live in. These magazines can be read at home with a family member, at school with a partner or can be read independently. They are great for class discussions and everyday conversation with others. These grade appropriate magazines will be a great resource in my classroom, and I know for sure my students will not only be engaged, they will also be eager to read them!
