My students need floor seats and scoop rocking chairs while reading-providing them an opportunity to read and reach for the stars.

My Students

My students are energetic, excited learners. They want to work hard to reach their full potential. Sometimes they have trouble staying attentive as they get the wiggles. With alternative seating options, they can learn and get their wiggles out at the same time!

They live in a high poverty area where some are homeless and many have free and reduced-price lunches.

The school consists of grades 1 though 4, and more than half of the 200 students are low income. Although this is so, they are all excited learners and work hard. With the use of alternative seating, they will be able to enhance their learning by extending their focus while getting their wiggles out.

My Project

Flexible seating allows students the opportunity to make the seating choice that works best for them. During whole group time, students will be able to have choices to assist them in engaging in reading lessons. During independent work time, students will have the opportunity to be more focused and engaged while working.

The products I have chosen will help my students by giving them alternative options for seating while at the carpet and during independent work time.

The scoop rockers will assist students in getting their wiggles out by rocking slightly. The floor seats will give students a comfortable alternative option.
