Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are inquisitive enthusiastic learners. Each of them comes eager to learn many new things and has grown willing to take on greater academic risks and challenges. My classroom philosophy is focused on building a love for learning and discovery. The students work hard each day to flourish in their own learning while building life skills for their future. I wish to encourage my students by helping them to design and implement a personalized learning journey.
My goal is to provide them all resources to be successful and I want them to have limitless opportunities to explore reading, math, science, and computer science with the best technology and materials available.
My Project
Technology is rapidly changing, so much so many of us adults are struggling to understand their own digital lives. Our kids have never known life without the Internet, and in many cases, they know more about it than we do, or they think they do. Parents and teachers must stay one step ahead of our kids and learn everything we can about being online.
Therefore, my students need a variety of read-aloud books to support lessons that teach them how to be smart, safe, responsible, and respectful digital citizens.
These read-alouds will help reinforce a variety of digital citizenship and digital literacy skills in our classroom, such as distinguishing between real and "fake" news, learning proper Internet etiquette and safety, and learning about cyberbullying and how to prevent it.
