Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
College bound students that need a challenge! These are my students. They are middle school students with the potential to earn high school credit for successfully passing Spanish for Native Speakers, the only thing lacking are materials to truly engage them and challenge them.
The students in this Spanish class are native speakers who may think they know how to speak Spanish, but may find they lack knowledge of reading and writing the language.
The students come from a very impoverished area and elective classes in the area are limited. All students were hand selected to be in this class because they are highly motivated students with potential to earn high school credits at the middle school level.
My Project
Many of the stories in our textbook can be supplemented to further our units with the materials requested. The supplemental dictionaries, books, DVDS, and posters can also aid the students on their mission to become truly bilingual students in both their native language and the English language.
My students face many challenges daily!
Most if not all come from economically challenged homes. Help me challenge and inspire them daily to build better futures for themselves, and their families!
