This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are predominately Haitian. Some are coming from single family homes others are with a family member or even homeless. My students come with many stories, however they are eager to learn. The neighborhood is ok. The school is a predominately Haitian population and some Hispanic. Needless to say this doesn't stop my students from wanting more. They are a group of students with character, purpose and many visions to accomplish and become whom they have set their mind to be. I want to be able to expose them to technology more effectively to experience more reading.
My Project
The items that I am requesting will truly contribute to our classroom. Many of my students do not have access to technology at home therefore they are limited and unable to complete their computer based homework. If we have more tablets or laptops students can complete the program in class. Students are also expected to do well on their computer standardized assessments however if they have no working technology, how can we expect success. Therefore, if we have the resources of Fire tablets my students can get more exposure and practice. I can also have more students rotate in my technology center.
