This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My amazing and challenging students are from a low budget, Title I school in Philadelphia. They have such a thirst for knowledge, but it is hard with limited technology in our classroom. The technology provided will help my students become better readers and mathematicians through access to the internet. We use reading and math programs that are hard to use with only four computers for 30 students. Speakers would be a great addition to our classroom. Books will also help us become better readers. These students show up every day ready to learn and prepare themselves for the future. They are wonderful, sweet, smart, awesome loving students. They come to school each day eager and willing to put their horrible circumstances aside and learn so they are able to be the best they can be!
My Project
My students will be able to better hear our stories on the computer and projector with a speaker. We struggle to hear currently. We only have access to four computers in our classroom. Five new kindle fires would help us a lot. It would get more students on the internet where they are able to use both our reading and math interventions. My students are always looking for new and exciting books to read. The books picked for this project would make a great addition to our classroom library. Thank you so much in advance for your help!
