Reading the Infinity War

My students need to prepare for our field trip to see Marvel's Infinity War in Science Fiction and Fantasy this semester. We are going to read Infinity War, and we need five more copies.

My Students

Our school is a low-income school and our community is primarily blue-collar. Most of the students come from homes where reading isn't encouraged or appreciated. Most parents in our community never found the value in reading so for these kids to take this class despite their background is huge. I want them to have a great experience with literature; they need great literature to get them into reading.

Despite their parents' background, this class is a fellowship of voracious fantasy and science fiction readers.

They read frequently and across the genres. They love reading and are constantly looking for the newest and best stories. They need great literature.

My Project

My Science Fiction and Fantasy students are awesome. They work hard and read a ton. I'm constantly looking for ways to reward them for their efforts and become more engaged in our learning. To encourage my students engagement, we usually read the novel and then go see movies when applicable.

Last year, we went to Rogue One after reading Claudia Gray's Lost Stars and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them after reading JK Rowling's accompanying novel.

This year, after we read Ernest Cline's Ready Player One, we're going to the movie in March and I want to do this with The Infinity War compendium in May. Please donate!
