My students need 6 supplies to make School-to-Home book bags for reading awareness in the home and school.
This project expired on March 18, 2011.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
"If you can read well, you can accomplish anything you set your mind to," is what I tell my students.
Creating master readers is the goal of our small, rural 3-teacher school, in which most of our students are Native Alaskan.
Three years ago I asked for supplies (through DonorsChoose) to make book bags that students could take home to read with their parents. With your support this project came to be and was a great success. Now I ask again so that another group of students can have the same achievement.
With this donation, I want to create additional book bags for our students to take home to build on past successes. These bags will provide the books and opportunity for parents to continue to read to their children no matter what the age or reading ability of the child. Our personalized book bags will give parents all the supplies, instruction and encouragement needed to succeed.
With all of us working together, we can create super readers.
Alone we can do so little, and together we can do so much. Please support our project, that in the past has made such a difference in our student's reading, self-esteem, and confidence. Thank you.
