My Students

My students are hard working 10-12 year olds with diverse backgrounds and varying needs. They all qualify for individualized education plans in the areas of reading and/or math. I see my students in small groups for more specialized instruction.

Every day these students come to school happy and ready to learn, even though it may be difficult for them.

I am proud to work with such a unique group of children and I strive to help them be successful in all areas by celebrating their accomplishments.

My Project

Please help my students become good readers because readers become leaders! In my classroom, my students need a guided reading center so effective reading instruction and practice can be effortless. The halfmoon table is critical when students practice reading in small group instruction because effective learning results when all students have equal access to the teacher to ask, inquire, and correspond with their peers and teacher. The whiteboard table top will allow students to show their thoughts in writing and take notes while reading.

By having this guided reading center, fluent readers can grow… from good to great!
