This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My class is a group of hard working, talented, and enthusiastic third graders. The students come to school each day eager to learn and full of potential. Each child in my class works hard to reach their personal and academic goals, while encouraging and supporting one another. My students love to collaborate and explore with hands-on learning experiences. It is amazing to see the curiosity grow in each student as they learn about themselves and the world around them.
My Project
The reading area is a focal point in our classroom, but we need a reading rug to make it complete! My students love selecting books from our classroom library, but they need a spot to enjoy those books. The students will be able to use the classroom rug during independent reading time to help them get lost in their books while they are comfortably reading. The rug will provide our class with an additional learning area where the students can experience a seating change to help them stay focused throughout the day. My students spend a great deal of time collaborating during center time, and a rug will provide them with a spot to work together. The classroom rug will also be used daily during our morning meeting where the students will have a place to come together each morning to interact and learn with each other.
