Dear Donors, Hello. I teach third grade at P.S.212 in the South Bronx. I honestly love my kids who come from very poor neighborhoods and am truly saddened when I can not provide things for them. I try my best and spend large amounts on supplies. Unfortunately, larger items are quite difficult for me to purchase being that this is only my second year teaching. We constantly work on the carpet because it creates a close community environment. We have read alouds, shared readings, and independent reading activities done on the rug. Sadly, my rug is not large enough for my entire class, even though they nicely squeeze together every day. I have bought small runners to place next to them, but they are all different colors and it is not a pleasant sight. I would love to have a comfortable and lovely rug that creates an environment to promote reading activities for my students. Thank You!
