My students need a carpet big enough for all of them to have a seat on during whole group carpet instruction time, and a new easel to use during instruction.
Books take you on trips to far away places! How would it feel to read a book on a hard classroom carpet on top of concrete? This classroom rug would make that trip with reading a book a relaxing and unforgettable experience! Easels have stood the test of time! Easels are very important and needed!
I have 16 fabulous first graders eager to learn, and they love to make a difference in their community and our school!
I work at a high poverty school where my students do not always have the supplies they need or are given the opportunities that other students have been given. They are always so appreciative and do their best in academics and other aspects that come with school. They are extraordinary students!
I would like to be able to have a classroom rug that fits all my students. I would like it to be big enough that 16-17 first grade students can sit on it comfortably at one time. This resource will change my students' lives for the better because they will all have a place to call their own on the rug and in return will be able to participate more effectively! I would also like to have a new magnetic white board easel to use in my lessons and also during centers for students' use. Students will be able to use both resources during center time and in all subjects during different activities!
My project is so important to me because I want to make every opportunity that I can available to help my students learn more.
Something as little as a classroom rug that is good material, soft and big enough can help a student pay attention more and thus understand an important concept. Also with the easel, students need to be able to see anchor charts, big books and will be able to use it during centers to help in word work, writing, math, and reading.
