Do you remember the excitement of reading new books? My twenty second grade students would love to start off the new school year with new and interesting books to read, that keep them engaged while learning!
Their rural community they live in is so small that it doesn't even have a grocery store!
Likewise, the school budget is limited. Because of this, we cannot purchase supplies beyond our basic necessities. This is where we need your help to make our class the best it can be!
My Project
With fiction and nonfiction books about life, such as kindness, animals, freedom, love, history, and occupations, we will be able to practice ongoing reading skills while learning in meaningful ways. This great variety of books will be incorporated into the second grade reading and writing curriculum for January through May. It will also expose the kids to captivating genres. This rich reading collection will encourage my students to read and write. Not only that, but the thematic plush dolls will create an excitement in the classroom...Woody, Jessie, and Bullseye. It will truly create a "Roundup of Learning!"
This is where you can make a difference!
With your support, books like "Looking for Lincoln," "Each Kindness," "Somebody Loves You, Mr. Hatch," "Henry's Freedom Box," "Salt in His Shoes," and "Catching the Moon," will be made possible for the students. You will be instilling a love for reading and writing that will last a lifetime!
