Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am looking to create an amazing space that feels like a safe home to succeed in.
My classroom (special day class) consists of 13 students ranging from Kindergarten-6th grade. These kids have become very near and dear to my heart and deserve an environment that is fun and fits their needs.
I am looking to provide them with a variety of options that can help create an individualized learning environment that is easily accessible for them. They have grown tremendously this year and I know can grow even more when given the tools they need at their fingertips.
My Project
These reading tools will make a huge impact on my students academic goals. Many of my students struggle with foundational skills and confidence to allow them to grow. Books will help them gain confidence and slowly move forward to not overwhelm them.
The games will then help the students have fun.
Fun is a huge aspect of helping my students learn. When the content is introduced in a game aspect their ability to focus is huge!
Lastly, the tools from whiteboards to timers will help them and me as their teacher stay on track. Their daily objectives will be written at each rotation to remind them what their station is working towards as a group.
