Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have a wonderful group of second-grade students who are ready to learn. Although our classroom looks different this year, we are a team. Our goals are the same and together my students will succeed. The places my students can go to are boundless as long as they have the right tools to get there.
My classroom includes students at all levels of learning.
Most of my students come from low-income homes. Many of them are English language learners who absorb words like sponges. They love both reading and math and are always up for a challenge. My students are always learning both in and outside the classroom. They are a hardworking bunch!
My Project
Reading aloud to my students is my favorite time of the school day. I love to hear "awwww" when I tell them we will read more tomorrow, my students love this time too! The three books I chose are high-interest books that will be sent home with my students and allow them to follow along as I read during our virtual class time. This project will allow my students to follow along and stay engaged during class read-aloud time.
The books I chose are perfect for second graders getting their feet wet in the world of chapter books.
Your generous donation will allow students to read mysteries and realistic fiction books that will encourage my children to fall in love with reading!
