Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

The wonderful thing about my students is that have a passion for information. Many of my students are investigative and like seeking out information on their own. They're eager to please with fun facts that everyone may not know.

My students are also avid readers.

The elementary school reading teachers did a wonderful job of instilling reading as a good habit and many of my students read every day. My students love getting as many book recommendations as they can!

My Project

As a new teacher, receiving money for books is difficult to come by. I'm hoping that these new titles will spark the interest of both my avid readers and in a book slump readers.

With these new books, my students will be able to increase their vocabulary, reading comprehension, and their knowledge of the various societies while I share my love of reading.

I plan on doing book studies with my students, so they'll have to choose a book of their liking. Students are more likely to excel when they have a choice in what they do, so these books will help them become more independent readers.
