Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have 25 amazing students! I work at a Title I school. These energetic children are enthusiastic and motivated learners! My pupils have a unique variety of abilities, interests, and learning styles. In kindergarten, it is developmentally appropriate to have lessons where the kids have opportunities to interact hands-on and creatively. In kindergarten, we must focus on rigorous academics, free play, creativity, and developing fine and gross motor skills.

I hope to provide my students with the appropriate level of books to help each child progress at his or her optimal level of achievement.

My Project

Watching kids read their first words and write their first sentences is part of the magic of kindergarten. Having a stocked leveled library is one of the best tools to have to help them be successful. A leveled library contains books for different reading abilities. One can have an emerging reader and a fluent reader in the same class and benefit from the same lesson using this technique. Each kid can learn at a pace that is personalized for them.

I am requesting a set of Rigby readers at the level D.

I've noticed many of my level D books are a bit tougher then they should be. Moving from level D to E in reading is a hard jump. It is important to have books leveled appropriately for kids to assist children in mastery of that level. These books will be used for independent reading and small group instruction. I also allow families to use my library for home use. The children may bring books home for extra use.

These books can also inspire creativity in art, their personal writing, and much more!

Thank you so much for supporting my classroom and public schools.
