My students need headphones to participate in individualized computer reading programs. The microphone will be used to capture performances put on at Franklin as well as potential student news programs.

My Students
FMS is located in Minneapolis, MN serving 6th, 7th and 8th graders. Franklin reopened in the Fall of 2015 after being shut down for multiple years. Our mission at Franklin is to implement strategies to engage awesome minds to be prepared for success in high school and college.
Franklin is a community school providing a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) focused education to prepare students to attend and be successful in North High School's Communication Arts and Summatech programs.
My Project
Many of my students participate in a computer based reading program. They need to hear audiobooks read to them, hear words they don't understand and get directions. They will also need to be able to record themselves reading in order to hear how they sound.
There are a variety of amazing things happening at Franklin daily.
The microphone will be used to capture the awesome things happening at our school including assemblies and performances. It will also be used in the after school setting for various after school clubs like student news. We currently have a camera to capture great video for this and a microphone will allow us to capture great audio as well.
