This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am a third grade teacher to an amazing group of students. We are a high poverty school in Maryland but that does not stop my students from aiming high and reaching for the stars. Although faced with many challenges in and out of school, there is no goal that is too high for my students. At our school, we believe that We Can and We Will.
We are excited to think outside the box and make education fun and innovative.
Not only will skills learned in my class prepare my students for college, but also for the real world. We love to be hands-on and to use technology to learn. We love to engage in projects that will make the world a better place. We also love to get up and move! In my classroom, the best way to learn is by doing it! My hope is for my students to make a positive impact on their community.
My Project
Our classroom goal is to become fluent and professional readers with a love of literacy by the end of third grade. With these resources, my students will continue to discover how reading can be fun while practicing the much needed phonics and comprehension skills. These resources will be used daily during our guided reading block. My students love to use whiteboards and magnetic letters as an alternative to paper and pencil tasks.
For many of my students, receiving any gift or donation is a foreign concept.
My students' only request is the gift of literacy. They are determined to be successful and with your help, you can help them meet this goal.
