Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classroom is a good representation of our school community: multicultural and socio-economically diverse. Half of my students qualify for the free and reduced breakfast and lunch program. My twenty-four Spanish Dual Immersion Kindergarten students are always ready and eager to learn. Their curious minds are always searching for opportunities and challenges. My students are always excited about learning. I am always excited about given them as many multisensory learning opportunities as possible. Seeing how their faces light up is always rewarding.
My Project
My little learners love to play. My little learners love to touch and grasp. My little learners are curious. These hands-on language arts activities will give my little learners the opportunity to explore, learn and play at the same time. As my little learners strengthen their fine motor skills, they will also practice letter recognition, sound correspondence, creating syllables, building multi syllable words, and reinforce high frequency words. The storage bins and containers will help them organize their learning journals, language arts workbooks, reading bags, and supplies. The best part is that these are materials that can be loved year after year.
