My students need sight word games and activities. I am also requesting a portable listening station. These items will help scholars grow their reading skills and knowledge.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The scholars I am entrusted with daily are enthusiastic learners. There are a high level of English Language Learners in my classroom. The educational items that you choose to fund will help them grow to achieve their dreams of attending and graduating college.

Our school provides free college preparatory education in a community that has limited high quality public education options. Our goal is to completely close the achievement gap between students, regardless of their ethnic or economic background, while ensuring that 100% of our students graduate and enroll in college.
Our school is committed to building a brighter future – one student at a time. We do this by creating quality, college preparatory public schools in under-served communities. Each student must be accepted into a two- or four-year college institution in order to receive their diploma from our high school.
Our community approach means that we actively reach out to local leaders and invite them to help us improve education in their communities by serving on our local boards and being advocates for our mission in their local neighborhood.
My Project
These materials will be used in our classroom for leading stations and to provide additional support to struggling scholars. Several English Langauge Learners struggle to read and spell sight words. The popcorn games I have chosen will allow scholars to practice and master various levels of sight words. In addition to the popcorn learning stations, the portable listening center will help scholars when they read to master print awareness. Scholars will be able to work with a partner to read a higher level book, hear the words, and track the words being read. This will help them to associate the spoken words to written words, and therefore further their reading skills.
