My students are gifted students from all over the county based on their IQ and achievement test scores. The way they are chosen creates a diverse learning community. They use this diversity to build a strong learning foundation. My students are highly creative and use STEM as a real-world connection to their learning. They are leaders and problem-solvers in need of enriching materials to engage and deepen their understanding of basic concepts.
Our class quote is: Be yourself and shoot for the stars.
My Project
As school is out for summer I am already looking forward to next years pupils! I am using the little level readers A-D sets to better differentiate guided reading time. I am also using the magnetic sentence strips pockets for sequencing practice and to hold math practice facts during the start of our math time. I am using the bookends to hold books on the top of the bookshelves. I am using the Crayola paint and brushes for various STEM projects. One of these such projects is a handprint from the kissing hand. Another project is having the kids paint upside down like Michaelangelo during our artist jobs week. The write and wipe thin line markers are for students to use during centers.
Overall the little-leveled readers and art supplies will help my students grasp important concepts that will give them a strong foundation for learning the rest of their lives.
