My Students

I work in a blended Ed program for our charter school. I work with students k-8. These students are from rural communities and come to an in-person learning day one day a week (called the epic day) and do the rest of the learning at home. My students love epic day and the community and friendship they get. They love to be creative and work on hands-on projects as well as strengthen basic skills.

My Project

I want to make as big of an impact during the epic day as possible. I want to help the students increase their reading levels and improve their fluency. With the items on my list, I plan to create small groups based on ability and spend time with those students reading. I work with students K-8 so there is a big range of abilities. I have chosen books on all grade levels. I have also chosen a few manipulatives for the students that I have that are not reading yet and are still learning the alphabet.
