Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are an excited bunch who are always eager to learn new things.
While they all come from very different backgrounds and home lives, they are all the same in their dedication to school and learning.
My school resides in a neighborhood where many of the families are immigrants and speak languages other than English. Many of my students enter school speaking little to no English, but are excited to learn the language. Their different cultures help to make my classroom a diverse learning space for all.
My Project
This project will provide my students with wonderful and creative examples of biographies and books about animals. As these are two of the areas we cover in 3rd grade, these books will serve as wonderful resources for my students.
By delving into a great mentor text, my students will experience strong writing while also learning new content!
The games and activities in the project will give my students productive, engaging things to do during indoor recess. For example, the cups for cup stacking will help promote creativity and teamwork. These resources will help me to engage my students while providing them with meaningful experiences.
