Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach a fabulous group of kindergarten students in a economically challenged area. All students receive free breakfast and lunch. My 17 students come from a variety of backgrounds and English is often a second language. Each and every day these children enter my classroom happy to be in a safe environment where they are encouraged to try their best, support each other, and use mistakes to grow.
We are a community of learners.
I see every day their excitement and desire to learn.
My Project
The materials chosen will help my children develop their understanding of letters, sounds, blends, and how they work together to create words. The Storyteller Writing Box and What's Inside? Soft Feely Box will build excitement to use what they have learned about letters to write words and sentences. By using these literacy learning materials, students will develop their ability to write and read. These activities offer a high level of engagement and motivate students to learn. The materials promote independence, reduce paper and pencil activities, and support them in becoming lifelong learners. Your support will impact a wonderful group of students.
